ROOTED LITERARY MAGAZINE

Our Mission

Rooted Literary Magazine is dedicated to cultivating a creative community where artists and writers can grow, connect, and thrive. To be rooted is to be grounded in one’s self, environment, and community—our mission is to promote literary and artistic expression, uplift diverse and emerging creators and provide accessible opportunities for the public to engage with literature, art, and community storytelling. We aim to publish impactful creative work and offer programs that support artistic development, literacy, and inclusive cultural participation.

We publish art, poetry, fiction, nonfiction, speculative writing, spoken word, music, and film that challenge conventions, expand perspectives, and imagine new worlds. We welcome work from both emerging and established creators, and we are especially committed to uplifting Southern writers and publishing hopefuls whose stories are often overlooked.

Through publication, community programming, educational opportunities, and live events such as open mic nights in North Texas, Rooted Literary Magazine seeks to nurture a diverse creative landscape where every voice has the opportunity to take root and flourish.
